  • Aspiring mechanical CAD technicians

  • Junior building services engineers or drafters

  • Apprentices or interns in MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) firms

  • Professionals from HVAC/plumbing trades transitioning to office-based roles

  • Recent graduates or students in mechanical or building services disciplines

Personal Impact

  • Learn industry drafting standards for HVAC, plumbing, and fire systems

  • Build confidence in interpreting and producing 2D service layouts

  • Gain hands-on experience with manual and CAD draughting

  • Develop a foundational skillset for career growth in MEP drafting and design

 Organizational Impact

  • Improves team productivity with skilled mechanical drafters

  • Reduces design errors and improves documentation quality

  • Enhances coordination with architects and engineers

  • Supports onboarding of junior technical staff with standardized training

Course Objectives

  • By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the role of mechanical services in buildings

  • Interpret and produce HVAC, plumbing, and fire system drawings

  • Apply industry-standard symbols, scales, and layouts

  • Use AutoCAD (or similar CAD software) for service drawings
