Course Overview

This practical training course provides a comprehensive foundation in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Building Information Modeling (BIM) for architectural and construction professionals. Participants will gain hands-on experience with industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks, learning to create, coordinate, and manage digital building models and technical drawings from concept through construction.

Course Duration

10 Days

Target Audience

  • Architects, designers, and architectural technologists

  • Civil engineers and construction managers

  • BIM technicians and coordinators

  • Draftspersons and CAD operators transitioning to BIM

  • Professionals working in design and construction documentation

Personal Impact

  • Gain confidence in using CAD and BIM tools for real projects

  • Learn to collaborate efficiently using digital design models

  • Build a portfolio of coordinated plans, models, and reports

  • Enhance employability in modern AEC (Architecture, Engineering, Construction) environments

Organizational Impact

  • Boost in-house BIM and CAD capability

  • Streamline design-to-construction workflows

  • Reduce design errors and coordination clashes

  • Deliver higher quality, data-rich building documentation

Course Objectives

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand and apply CAD and BIM concepts in building design

  • Create 2D drawings and 3D models using AutoCAD and Revit

  • Develop coordinated BIM models for architecture and construction

  • Manage views, sheets, annotations, and construction details

  • Use BIM tools to detect clashes, extract quantities, and collaborate across teams
